Who This Service May Help

Dry needling may be considered for people with persistent muscle tightness, trigger points, or localised musculoskeletal pain that has not responded fully to other approaches. It is typically used as part of a broader treatment plan.

Conditions commonly assessed include:

  • Myofascial trigger points
  • Chronic muscle tightness
  • Neck and shoulder tension
  • Lower back pain
  • Headaches of muscular origin
  • Sports-related muscle injuries

This list is not exhaustive. Please contact us if you are unsure whether this service may be appropriate for your condition.

What to Expect

Your physiotherapist will assess whether dry needling is appropriate for your condition and discuss the process with you before proceeding. Fine, sterile needles are inserted into identified trigger points. Most people experience minimal discomfort during the procedure.
